Angels
These are your typical, Judeo-Christian angels. The leaders of the angels are the archangels. Angels have superhuman strength, agility, and stamina. Archangels are elite of the angelic host and are lead by Michael. All angels have wings and the ability to fly. Holy/consecrated ground causes any and all wounds to be healed almost immediately, unless the wound was made by an unholy object. Unholy weapons have the ability to mortally wound angels and if the wound is not deadly, they must return to their home plane to properly heal. All angels must adhere to a strict moral code. However, God has made allowances for them to be able to live a more human lifestyle, if they so choose. This includes, but is not limited to, romantic relationships. Angels have three forms: their true form, a hybrid that is somewhere between their true, angelic form and their human form, and a human form that the choose. They do not take vessels.

Deities
The gods of old have returned. Those that haven't faded from existence, that is. From the Sumerians to the Norse, these are beings that helped mold and create humanity. The deities have not been formerly outed. However, they are more than welcome to out themselves. Most prefer to not let their true identities be known. All deities are able to take on whatever appearance they want, or they can take a vessel if they so choose. Though, most choose to take on their own forms and avoid vessels.

Demons
While it is commonly believed that demons are strictly the fallen angels from the war in Heaven, but that is not the case. While the Kings and leaders of the demons are fallen ones, only a small percentage of demons are actual from the numbers that were cast down. The fallen ones still have their wings, but demons that are not originally from Heaven do not (unless it is part of their natural form). Those with wings do have the ability to fly. Holy/desecrated ground causes any and all wounds to be healed almost immediately, unless the wound was made by a holy object. Holy weapons have the ability to mortally wound angels and if the wound is not deadly, they must return to their home plane to properly heal. Demons, like angels, have three forms: their true one, a hybrid, and the human form they choose. Unlike angels, demons can, and do, take vessels via possession. Not all demons take vessels, but when they do, it is usually done to torment and torture the human that they have taken over.

Gifted Humans
From being able to touch an item and telling the history of that item to being able to sense the presence of demons, there are many different abilities that humans are sometimes born with, or develop over the years. Some call them gifts, others call them curses. Gifted humans also include Immortals (think Highlander) and reincarnates (historical and mythological figures who have been reborn). Whatever they are, they make certain humans just a little more than average. Gifted humans are not to be confused with witches.

Magical Creatures
These are creatures of myth and legend. From the mighty phoenix to the mysterious mermaids, these creatures have been thought of as strictly legends by humans and they don't think that they actually exist. Unlike vampires, shifters, and witches, most of these creatures are really known to actually exist, except for a very small group of people.

Shifters
Shifters are any human that can take the form of an animal. The most well known of the shifters are the lycanthropes - werewolves, though there are numerous different kinds of shifters and they can take the form of any animal. Shifters can either be born or turned into one by a shifter. Born shifters tend to be stronger with more heightened senses than the ones that are turned. The only way to turn a human into a shifter is for the shifter in question to bite the human while in their animal form.

Undead
Vampires
Vampires are beings of legend that subsist on the life essence of living creatures. There are many different mythos for vampires, though the most popular is the Dracula legend. While this belief is popular and Dracula is widely believed to be the be all, end all of vampires.. he is not. He is not even the oldest. Vampires have been known entities since man began to write and pass stories down generation to generation. While there are different types of vampires, there is one common denominator: they must feed from the living to survive. All vampires are descended from The First. The First is as ancient as most deities and its current whereabouts are unknown.

Witches
Witches are practioners of magic. Their power lies with the energies that make up the world. Whether the witch is a solo practicioner or part of a coven, they are able to wield and manipulate energy to do what they want. Usually the most powerful witches come from long family lineages, however, sometimes a trained witch can be usurp the power of even the most powerful of bloodlines... especially if they make a pact with a more powerful being (demons, deities, etc).
